Lil Wayne - No Ceilings
“Everybody wanna be fly, but don’t know where they wings at”
Lil Wayne has earned a reputation over the past couple years of playing around on tracks, firing out ridiculously random and nonsensical lyrics, and just generally seeming like he’s not taking rap seriously. When I first heard ‘Ms. Officer’, off Tha Carter III, I literally felt like Lil Wayne was laughing at me.
“Yeah, nigga, I know I can say anything on a track, and ya’ll muthaf***a’s are still gonna buy it!!!! It’s Weezy, babyyyyyyy!!!!!!”
With that out of the way, let me now say that through all this, I’ve still remained a Lil Wayne fan, because when this man is actually trying, he’s incredibly good — and No Ceilings shows this, exactly.
This mug is buck. If you like Lil Wayne, then you’re going to like this mixtape. People forget that mixtapes are actually Wayne’s specialty, and he does a good job of getting back to his roots. The 17-track flow session takes the beats from some of today’s most popular songs, and gives them a Weezy facelift. Prepare for a journey through punchline after punchline, clever metaphors, sexually explicit — and maybe even strange — lyrics, and a dude who legitimately considers himself the coldest rapper in the hip hop world.
And, just to make it clear, you’re going to hear some ridiculous lines — the good kind of ridiculous. In my favorite song on the mixtape, a redo of ‘Throw It In The Bag‘, Wayne drops this string lines:
Okay, f**king on Versace, nappin on satin
I love to hit it backwards, call it pig latin
I bought her a** a Mac, now we be i-chattin’
Niggas swag jackin, but I got mine patent
Pig latin!? Of ALL things to say! First of all, I haven’t used or even heard this term in like 5 years, so to hear it on a Lil Wayne mixtape caught me completely off guard — and that’s why this is good. I almost had to leave the room after I heard this line, I was so shocked/impressed.
The point is, get this mixtape. If you need some assistance in acquiring this: go here!

Lookbook.nu
During my ongoing quest to find other websites to look at beside Facebook and Gmail, I came across this gem of female fashion. ‘Lookbook.nu’ is a style site with a great concept, and a really interesting approach to the fashion world.
Daily “looks” are posted by budding, fashionable girls and guys, to show off their style and gain popularity in the style community. The “looks” are voted on by the members of the site, called “hyping”, and the person who’s look gets hyped accumulates “karma”, which is essentially prestige, and garners the person more fame, popularity, and influence on the site.
The most interesting thing is that this community isn’t available to just any mere fashion commoner. Aspiring Lookbook members must submit photos of themselves looking cool (haha), and if the panel deems you fashion savvy enough, access is granted to post looks and become more cool (again, haha).
Even if you don’t try out for the team, the site’s still a great place to go for style inspiration, in general — and, like 87% of the girls are pretty fine, so that doesn’t hurt. Check it out at: Lookbook.nu
Oh, and if you decide to try out for the Lookbook group, and you get accepted, quickly let me know .. I have a space on this blog reserved for you!

Not bad at all.
